The RHP is coming to town!

Refugee Highway Partnership (RHP) Europe holds an annual roundtable (gathering) at varying locations across Europe to encourage one another in our journeys to share life with refugees and asylum seekers.  And they’re coming to Malmö next week.  How exciting is that!!!

How exhausting is that!!!
We’ve been planning for a year, with more intense planning that started in June 2019, and more more intense planning that started in January 2020.  And we’re just about planned out.  The venue is ready (we hope!)  The worship teams are ready (we hope!). The hotel is ready.  Workshops are lined up and assigned their respective rooms.  10 of those each day.  Then there are excursions every afternoon.  7-8 of those each day.  Plenary sessions focusing on the theme of radical hospitality.
Bring out the welcome banners!

RHP is coming to Europaporten Pingstkyrkan and the Good Morning Hotel (in the background of this picture)

Our dining room table has already become a pre-event work space ~
Are we ready?
Hoppas ~ that’s what our Swedish friends would say.  Hopefully.  But more importantly, we have done a good work of preparing and now it’s time to totally trust God for the remainder of this journey.

And if you can read Swedish, check out the interview that the journalist from the Pingstkyrkan (pentecostal church) published last August on their website.  It talks about why the RHP is coming to Malmö.

Type in Refugee Highway Partnership ~ you'll see our bright shiny faces!

We are expecting God to show up, to make himself known in our worship, our reading of His Word, in teaching and listening to each other and to the stories of those whom we have come to love and serve in Europe.

Pray for us!
There will be photos and stories to share at the end of the week (or perhaps at the beginning of next week, as we’ll need some time to evaluate and get some Sabbath rest after the week is done!)

Check out a blog post from March 4-5, 2019 to read some of my reflections from the 2019 RHP roundtable that took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzogovina.
