Time to clear off my desktop blogpost

I can always tell when we’re getting ready to send out a ministry update by the number of random photos that have accumulated on my desktop.  So, rather than just deleting them, or storing them away, I thought I’d give you a quick look at what we’ve been doing in recent weeks.  Enjoy!

  • Limhamn harbor, Malmö Sweden...never get tired of this view, especially on a bright summer day!

Never get tired of this view....Limhamn harbor, Malmö
  • Copenhagen, Denmark.....so close, and yet so far (we're not yet allowed to travel outside of Sweden)
  • Language café on the go ~ thanks to covid-19 restrictions, we meet at church and then walk together for an hour and practice Swedish.  It's been a great exercise for language learning, plus we get 10,000 steps out of the class!
Language café on the go!
  • FIKA, Minnesota style!  We recently sent some special FIKA napkins to a group of prayer and ministry supporters in Minnesota....and look what they did!

  • How our local church celebrated Sweden's National Day, 6 June 2020.  In the midst of covid-19, we took fika and those who came to celebrate outside....it was still early June, you can tell by the layers of coats that people are wearing!
  • And look what we found when we visited an English speaking Bible school in Småland province.....James Bruckner's NIV Application Commentary on the book of Exodus.  Jim is a good friend and seminary professor at North Park Theological Seminary.

  • Lest we forget that we are living in a pandemic....public health instructions posted on the wall of a local apartment building complex.....choose what language you'd like to receive your instructions in....there were 10 listed here!

  • Calling this one "playground joy"....and remembering some fun we had in the sun with our colleagues' kids before they returned to the US.
  • This isn't Malmö, but Sarajevo, Bosnia, taken during the Refugee Highway Partnership roundtable there in 2019.  The reason for this season of ministry in Europe.....
  • Lest we forget.....Jesus as the light.....Jesus is the light!
