If you have followed our story at all, you know that we’re pretty serious about making disciples who follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and who know how to serve our world. We’ve been dreaming about Discipleship Retreats in Sweden for several years already, and the dreams are now becoming a reality. While Steve hosted a group of 5 guys in our home for pizza and a movie night followed by good discussions about being followers of Jesus, Barb took a group of women to Åhusgården and, well, let's just say a good time was had by all! In both places!
Gather three Swedes, three New Swedes, throw in one American just for good measure…and a good weekend was had by all. We came by bus and by car. We did the social distancing thing really well ~ in our living space, in our retreat space, across tables at wide distances in the dining hall. Old friends making new friends. Singing. Praying. Crying. Playing. Swimming…..wait a minute….swimming? In April? In the sea? Well, let it just be said, that this activity was enjoyed by the Swedes in our group. The rest of us watched from the beach all bundled up in our winter coats. “But the sun was shining” was their cry! Still wasn’t convincing enough to get all of us in the water!
If you would like to financially partner with us to make sure that we continue to have opportunities to gather new followers of Jesus on a discipleship retreat weekend, click here to find out more. And thanks in advance! For praying for us, for supporting us as we support these new Christ followers in their journey with Jesus.

Mysig is a wonderful Swedish word...it means cozy, atmospheric...so of course we needed candles and lights....and conversation cards in Swedish, English, Arabic and Farsi

Study corners starting to pop up all around the camp grounds

Another study corner...actually swing!

Studying plus vitamin D dosing!

On the way to the beach....we did all get down there but some of us were more brave (or choose the word you'd like to describe dipping in cold sea water) than others!

Dipping toes in the water worked for some of us ~
