Your ministry dreams coming true

It started in October 2019 when we prayed that God would give us an opportunity to touch the community on the other side of our city.  We wanted to help with Swedish language skills, but also find ways to impact peoples’ lives with the truth of the Good News about Jesus.  And that’s exactly what happened last week when we hosted a Julfest ~ a Christmas party for moms and dad and kids too!

What the room normally looks like as people come in on a Monday evening for language fun...
Steve loading up the car...there just wasn't any more room!  Thankfully, the building had an elevator that we could use to haul up all the fun to the 2nd floor!

I love those moments in life, and in ministry, when God shines down with favor on what we have planned and blesses us….with funding for the party, with great food and cans of Coke and Fanta that were on sale and Covid safe individual portions, with volunteers who really gave of themselves in order to make the space and evening so beautiful and special.

The tables had been set, at Covid safe distances, to accomodate 64 people..and we were 65 in total!

Christmas desserts...served with gloved and eager volunteers ~ with a good cup of coffee or tea...fika from the world!

People were encouraged to eat with family or other people in their covid bubble...the decorations were quite glam!  And a lot of the pretzels and M&M treats in the individual cups....well, they landed on the floor as the room kept filling up with friends.  No worries...there was plenty to eat!

Advent is a huge deal here in Sweden, so in many ways it feels like we’re well on our way to celebrating Christmas.  But this party….well, it really gave us the chance to celebrate the coming of the Christ Child.
