RHP 2022 ~ Athens Greece
So, we got
on a plane. We transferred in
Frankfurt. We passed every control that
we needed to pass. We arrived at the
hotel in Athens. And we breathed a sigh
of relief!Hello Athens! You're so beautiful and warm and sunny :-)
3 full
days, 4 nights. Theme of the conference: praying for those who are persecuted in
Afghanistan. Workshops. Worship ~ in English, Arabic, Farsi, Dari,
Greek. Meeting the world ~ those who
have a refugee journey to share, those who have a ministry experience to share. This just made me giggle....the "disinfected" sticker that greeted us in the hotel!
Praying in many languages ~ so powerful! |
Take-aways from the conference:
~God’s incredible goodness. We got there! We were negative when we needed to be negative (all those Covid tests, get it??!!)
~amazing opportunities to worship together, to learn together, to pray together, to cry together, to listen together.
~important opportunities for each of us to gather more tools for our ministry tool boxes, but also important education opportunities for my refugee guests.
~we have an
important story to bring back to our church in Malmö, and wait in anticipation
of what God will continue to teach us and how He will use us to encourage our church
on our journey together in welcoming the refugee.Icing the knees....Barb managed to take a tumble down the stairs... A slice of heaven ~ singing and worshiping together in so many different languages! A ministry visit ~ those who are caring for young unaccompanied minors Tools for our toolbox ~ what we took home back to Malmö!
Because it’s our biblical mandate.
And because we love Jesus.
And want to serve the world that He’s called us to serve in our world.
Sorry to hear about those knees. Ouch!! Praying that you'll be sprinting in no time. Ok, walking.
ReplyDeleteThis conference sounded reviving. Glad to hear your so negative. :-) Blessings on your way home and as you open up your new toolbox. Prayers and Love, from the tundra.
