One more summer reflection….

Okay, summer 2024 was really too good to be true.  Not only was the summer fruit fabulous, but our time also spent in the garden too fun (except for the SLUGS as mentioned in the previous post).  We really loved hanging around with our friends who are also foreigners in this land.  And just enjoyed being together.

Summer church picnic fun in the sun!

Stormy view over the sea on a prayer walk with church friends at a leadership team and spouses retreat.  Powerful work being done for the future of the church!

We enjoyed catching up with family in Värmland.  Humor us….just a few more pictures!

Highlight of this trip to Värmskog, Barb's grandma's village, was being invite to visit the small grocery store that has been in the village for generations.  It's almost like we got to touch a part of mormor's history in Sweden ~

Steve taking a well deserved rest after lunch...before fika!

So many cool places to discover!  it helps to hang out with the locals who know exactly where all the history lives

We played.

For Barb, it's always a good summer when she gets tan lines on her feet from where her sandal straps cross over...and the tan lines went deep this summer!
Lots of good walks in every place we visited ~

We did childcare to help families ensure more job security and continue to build their futures here in Sweden.

Steve gets all the credit for finding this fun play castle in nearby Lund.  And he also gets the credit for going down the slides and climbing up to the top!!

We celebrated birthdays.

There's a one year old in the house ~

We welcomed guests and said farewell to guests as well.

The Öresunds bridge connects us to Copenhagen, Denmark, Europe and the world.

Half the fun of welcoming guests to our culturally diverse city of Malmö is introducing them to our food culture.  Barb loves to find a new place to enjoy cevapçici, a lovely blend of beef and spices from her father's homeland, former Yugoslavia ~

And we talked Jesus!  All across Sweden.  In churches and around the fika table.  In our home and at language cafés.  And it was good.

Fika ~ glorious Fika!
